Brief info
Charles Walker is from Fort Pierce, Florida and has been painting wild landscapes in Florida for a long time. He doesn't feel strongly connected to the group of artists known as the Florida Highwaymen painters, which included Alfred Hair and Harold Newton.
Walker was born in 1945 in Fort Pierce and was one of three children in his family. He liked art from a young age and started drawing when he was five. He went to Lincoln Park Academy and had a teacher named Zanobia Jefferson, who also taught other famous painters. When he was in 9th grade, he won his first art competition and became known as the artist in his class.
